The Rural Revitalization Corporation has openings on its Board of Directors.
The corporation is a small non-profit agency in Cattaraugus County and part of New York State’s Rural Housing Coalition. The agency administers grants for low-to-moderate income homeowners that help them make necessary repairs to remain in their home (roofs, heating systems, electrical, plumbing, etc). The organization has also administered first-time home buyer programs, and provides financial counseling for those looking to purchase a home in the future.
If you are interested in joining the board, please send an email or letter of interest and a resume to Executive Director April Ramadhan at aramadhan@rrcorp.org.
A resume is necessary for the state grants the agency receives, but they are happy to consider a younger applicant who would like to learn about the agency and would appreciate an opportunity to grow within its board. The time commitment for the Board of Directors is one board meeting a month, and occasionally volunteer projects within the area.
The Rural Revitalization Corporation has participated with Kaboom! in the past and were a part of the Ralph Wilson Jr. Foundation project to build a new playground in Salamanca last year. The board also tried to volunteer for Blitz Day with Rebuilding Together, and have helped with United Way projects in the past.
