Alumni and current participants of Leadership Cattaraugus showed their support for our community by grabbing a shovel and digging in to help the Southern Tier Child Advocacy Center spruce up its property.
On Monday, May 15, more than 25 professionals pulled weeds, planted flowers and spread mulch at the center at 772 Main St. in Olean, leaving the grounds more pleasant and welcoming for the abused children who go there for help and healing.
The Child Advocacy Center assists more than 600 victims of child abuse each year from Cattaraugus and Allegany counties and has been a part of the Olean community for 10 years.
“Leadership Cattaraugus has more than 200 alumni on area agency boards and committees across the county,” said Leadership Cattaraugus Board President Jodi Fuller, who added, “The inaugural Give Back Day was a huge success and another way for our alumni to connect with the community.”
Other projects are being planned for later in the year and will provide alumni and members of the Class of 2017 opportunities to do similar civic projects for other not-for-profit organizations in the area. Watch the Leadership Cattaraugus website and your email for details.
